I can’t rate this doctor highly enough. 2 months ago I had a rotator cuff repair on my shoulder, it was a bad tear. I did my exercises religiously and to date I have virtually full movement of my shoulder. I haven’t been able to move like this for years. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr. Hashmi.

In 2020 I had a fall and broke my wrist, unfortunately the initial repair was not successful and a malunion ensued. I'm 69 and semi-retired, in my 20s I had been a professional freelance musician and played in pop groups, rock bands and big dance bands so having more time on my hands since semi-retirement I'd started to play again in a small jazz and blues band. I became extremely concerned that if my condition continued to worsen something that I loved doing for 60 years would come to an end. My wife knew that Mr Hashmi had an excellent reputation for dealing with my type of problem so an appointment was made to see him. In the first consultation I found him to be very friendly and easy to get along with, he was genuinely interested in what I did and what interests and hobbies I had and recognized the importance of them to me. He also went to great lengths to explain what had happened to my wrist and what he needed to do to correct it. I left the consultation feeling entirely satisfied that I had found the right surgeon for the job. On the day of the surgery Mr Hashmi was the same as when I previously met him, friendly, confident that my wrist could be straightened and the movement in my fingers improved, again he went over exactly what was involved in the procedure to make sure I was happy with it and that I didn't have anymore questions. I was fine with it all so off we went to the operating theatre. The operation was a long one, just over three and a half hours. It comprised shortening of the left ulna by about 25mm and secondary fixed ORIF of radius with bone grafting. After the operation when I was again compos mentis Mr Hashmi visited me to check on how I felt and explain what he'd done. The operation took place 3 days ago and I'm back home now feeling pleased and relieved because already I can see a vast improvement, my wrist appears straight and back where it used to be and I have good movement in my fingers, so much so that I can play some scales on the piano, something I didn't expect to be possible so soon without a lot of practice. Without hesitation I can wholeheartedly recommend Mr Hashmi to anyone seeking a consultant surgeon with his skills.

Mr Hashmi was superb, From the diagnosis of my shoulder rotator cuff tear through surgery and post operation care. I’m now 13 weeks post surgery and with the advice of Ollie my physiotherapist I’m almost back to 100% movement. Thank you to all those involved in my care, your all wonderful.

From my initial consultation and throughout my treatment I have found Mr Hashmi both informative and reassuring. One particular facet of this is that he took the trouble to find out something about my background. Having established my mechanical engineering background he explained my condition in terms that I could relate to. Also, why it had happened, and what could be done to rectify it. I can’t overstate the importance of this. Being my first experience of surgery, and now understanding what the x-rays and scans were showing, greatly relieved my anxiety and put me in a positive frame of mind. He made it very clear to me from the outset that I would have my own part to play in aiding a successful recovery over the coming months. Mr Hashmi has excellent listening and communication skills so I had a very clear understanding of what was required of me and at no point felt as if I was being talked down to. Well, he did his bit, physio’s did theirs, and I did as I was told! The result has been a rapid and positive outcome. Can’t suggest how things could have gone better. Many thanks

From the very first consultation through to being signed off, the service I received was excellent and I couldn't have asked for any more. Mr Hashmi fully explained the problem I had, how it was to be resolved with surgery, and the time it would take to heal. Everything that was was told to me at the beginning is what happened and my shoulder is now well on its way to recovery. As mentioned earlier, I couldn't have asked for a more professional service and I would certainly recommend Mr Hashmi and his team to anybody in the same situation I was in.
